Progress continues on the superstructure of this 2675 ft. long, 10-lane wide facility designed by
Sverdrup Civil, Inc. and being constructed by
Walter Construction (USA), Inc. (
Figs. 23 and 24). The nine-span bridge, owned by the Missouri Department of Transportation, is located in an urban park and spans one of the few remaining oxbow lakes of the Missouri River. Segment construction from Pier 2 Westbound has been completed with construction at Pier 2 Eastbound now underway. The closure in Span 1 Westbound has been made and form travelers have been moved to Pier 3 Westbound.
Finley McNary Engineers, Inc. has provided the primary construction engineering services for the bridge, which will be the first major application of segmental concrete construction in Missouri.
