First ASBI International Symposium 2008: “Future Technology for Concrete Segmental Bridges”

November 17 - 19, 2008 Fairmont Hotel, San Francisco, CA

The First ASBI International Symposium on “Future Technology for Segmental Concrete Bridges” is ASBI’s 20th and most ambitious convention. San Francisco and the Fairmont Hotel provide an outstanding venue for this 3-day program, developed to provide a world view of outstanding achievements in design and construction of concrete segmental and cable supported bridges, as well as an authoritative perspective on the durability and sustainability of these bridges. Twenty-two of the 64 symposium presentations are about projects or topics from outside the U.S. and/or are by speakers from outside the U.S. In addition to the technical program, the symposium will feature exhibits of products and services important to concrete segmental bridge design, construction and maintenance.

Spouses and Guests may choose to participate in one or more of the tours of San Francisco and the surrounding area, as well as the bridge tour on Wednesday afternoon organized by Caltrans. A Spouse/Guest breakfast will be available Monday through Wednesday. A Welcome Reception is scheduled from 6:00pm to 7:00pm on Monday evening, and a Reception and Prize Drawings will be held in the Exhibitor Showcase on Tuesday from 5:00pm to 6:30pm.
